John Brown (politician, before 1808)
John Brown (before 1808 - December 13, 1815 in Centerville , Maryland ) was an American politician . In 1809 and 1810 he represented the state of Maryland in the US House of Representatives .
Career
Nothing is known about John Brown's childhood and schooling, nor about his professional development beyond politics. He joined the Democratic Republican Party founded by Thomas Jefferson and was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the congressional election of 1808 as its candidate for the seventh constituency of Maryland , where he succeeded on March 4, 1809 by Edward Lloyd . He was confirmed in 1810 but resigned before the new legislature began to take over an administrative position at the District Court in Queen Anne's County . He held this position until his death on December 13, 1815 in Centerville.
