Daniel Baugh Brewster (* 23. November 1923 in Baltimore County , Maryland ; † 19th August 2007 ) was an American politician of the Democratic Party , of the State of Maryland in both houses of Congress of the United States represented.

Life

Brewster attended school in Baltimore and Concord ( New Hampshire ). He then studied at Princeton University , then at Johns Hopkins University . In 1942, he served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II . There he served until 1946. After the war, Brewster graduated from the Law School of the University of Maryland at Baltimore and was admitted to the bar in 1949.

politics

In 1950 he was elected to the Maryland House of Representatives, where he remained until 1958. He then stood in the second constituency of Maryland in the congressional elections and made it into the US House of Representatives , to which he was a member until 1963. As a result, he won the Senate elections and entered the US Senate in 1963 , to which he served for a term until 1969. He lost his re-election to Charles Mathias . In 1969 he was charged with accepting a gift while serving as senator.
