Ligsdorf ( German: Lüxdorf ) is a French commune with 311 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haut-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ).

geography

The municipality of Ligsdorf is located in the southern Sundgau , at the foot of the 816 m high Glaserberg , the highest point in the Alsatian Jura . The Ill , which rises in the neighboring municipality of Winkel, flows from west to east through the municipality of Ligsdorf, about 500 m of it underground.

Ligsdorf is connected by roads to the neighboring communities of Winkel, Sondersdorf , Bendorf and Ferrette . In the south joins the municipality of Lucelle , which borders on Switzerland .

history

From 1871 until the end of the First World War , Ligsdorf belonged to the German Empire as part of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine and was assigned to the Altkirch district in the Upper Alsace district .
