history

Neuenhaus was first mentioned in a document around 1500 (further mentioning 1577), but the time of origin of the settlement is presumed to be between 1300 and 1400 following the second medieval clearing period. Neuenhaus is a split from Heesfeld.

Around 1500 it is documented by documents that the Neuenhaus farm was liable to the Bergisches Amt_Beyenburg . The jurisdiction of the court was subordinate to a Bergisch judge specially appointed for the Bergische Höfe in the otherwise Brandenburg- dominated parish of Halver, which often led to a dispute with the Brandenburg count actually responsible for the parish .

1818 residents lived in the village. In 1838 Neuenhaus belonged as Auf`m Neuenhaus to the Oeckinghauser peasantry within the Halver mayor . The place, which was categorized as a courtyard according to the location and distance table of the government district of Arnsberg , had two residential buildings and two agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, 15 residents lived in the village, all of whom were Protestant.

The community encyclopedia for the province of Westphalia from 1887 gives a number of 28 inhabitants for Auf dem Neuenhaus , who lived in four houses.
