The Primera División 2018/19 (officially LaLiga Santander ) was the 88th season of the top Spanish division in football . The season began on August 17, 2018 with Girona's game against newly promoted Real Valladolid and ended on May 19, 2019.

The defending champion was FC Barcelona . For the 26th time the club was able to secure the Spanish national championship.
