The 2014 Rogers Cup was a tennis tournament that took place in Toronto from August 4 to 10, 2014 . It was part of the 2014 ATP World Tour and was played outdoors on hard courts. This season it was the sixth of nine tournaments in the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 category . At the same time, the 2014 women's Rogers Cup took place in Montreal .

Defending champion in the singles was Rafael Nadal , who was unable to take part in this year's event due to a wrist injury. Alexander Peya and Bruno Soares won the doubles title last year .

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 56 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 24 pairs. The eight top seeded players in singles or pairings in doubles each received a bye into the second round.

qualification

Qualification for the Rogers Cup 2014 took place on August 2nd and 3rd, 2014. Seven qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament. In addition, two lucky losers advanced into the main field.
