See What Love Can Do is a rock song written by Jerry Lynn Williams and released by Eric Clapton on his album Behind the Sun with Warner Music Group in 1985 .

When Clapton returned to England from The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking tour, Warner Bros. informed him that they were asking for potential hit singles. He and his manager asked the record company what it meant by a hit single. Warner Brothers sent three Clapton Title: Forever Man , Something's Happening and See What Love Can Do . The piece is characterized by the synthesizer and keyboard sounds played by Phil Collins , mixed with the chords played by Clapton and distorted interludes as well as guitar solos .

The single reached number 89 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1985 and stayed in the US charts for two weeks. The single also ranked 20th on the mainstream rock tracks chart that same year.
