Strictly the Blues is a compilation album by British rock musician Eric Clapton . The album was first released on September 2, 1996 under the Pulse Records and Castle Music labels . On April 11, 2000 the compilation was re-released .
The album contains 20 tracks from Clapton's time with the Yardbirds , Bluesbreakers and the Immediate All-Stars , on which Jimmy Page , Bill Wyman , Mick Jagger and Ian Stewart also played alongside Clapton .

Critic Stephen Thomas Erlewine of the music website Allmusic describes the compilation of the titles as "coherent" and notes that all songs were published with "comments" and "good sound". The album is ideal for “hard-core Clapton fans” who have to hear everything he's done. Finally, Erlewine awarded 2.5 of the 5 possible evaluation units for the compilation. Music journalist Anke Rüdiger from the Süddeutsche Zeitung wrote in her summary that the compilation shows a “blues master […]” who plays well and “[…] rightly shares the stage with world stars”.
