Blue Eyes Blue is a soul song written by Diane Warren. The inclusion of British rock musician Eric Clapton popularized the song and appeared on the soundtrack album for the film The Bride Who Doesn't Dare . The recording was produced by Rob Cavallo .

Publishing, marketing, music video

On July 20, 1999, the title was released as a piece for the soundtrack The Runaway Bride - Original Soundtrack in the United States , Canada and Mexico on CD . For the rest of the world, the soundtrack was released on August 2nd of that year. On October 12, 1999, the title appeared on Clapton's compilation album Clapton Chronicles: The Best of Eric Clapton . In addition, the title appeared on the compilations Unplugged / Clapton Chronicles: The Best of Eric Clapton from 2001 and Songs of Love from 2002. The single was released worldwide in 1999.

The Japanese television station Nippon TV used the title for documentaries and advertising campaigns . On November 10, 1999, WEA Japan (Warner subsidiary in Japan) released karaoke versions of the successful songs Change the World , Tears in Heaven and Blue Eyes Blue for the first time .

In the music video for the title , Clapton plays and sings the piece in a room and in the garden of a church . These scenes are interspersed with sequences from the film.

Chart placements

In Germany, the single was number 84 in the German single charts and remained in the charts for 6 weeks. In Finland the extraction reached number 5 in the Suomen virallinen lista and remained there for 4 weeks. In the United Kingdom, the title positioned 94th on the Official Charts Company chart , where it only stayed for a week. The piece reached number four on the US American Billboard Adult Contemporary and number 29 on the Adult Top 40 charts in 1999. Blue Eyes Blue was also number 112 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles Chart and number 65 on the Japanese Single charts in which the track stayed for 8 weeks. In Canada, the release reached positions 2 and 30 on the RPM Adult Contemporary Tracks and Top Singles Chart in 1999. In the new millennium, the release found itself at the highest positions 8 and 51.
