Another Ticket is the seventh studio album by British rock guitarist Eric Clapton . It was released on February 17, 1981. It was his last album for RSO Records . On October 25, 1990 the album was also released on CD.

Reception and awards

The music website Allmusic awarded three stars out of five for the album. Critic William Ruhlmann summed it up as follows: "It wasn't a brilliant Clapton, but a good one". Rolling Stone awarded the album four out of five stars. On June 25, 1981, critic John Piccarella described Clapton's version of Floating Bridge as "perhaps the most subtle and sophisticated blues Clapton has ever played." Piccarella found that Clapton had managed to record a popular album of both authentic and tragic blues. He "addresses charts and hearts with one bullet". The album reached number 26 in the German charts and stayed there for 16 weeks. The album placed in the American and British album charts at ranks seven and 18 . The single I Can't Stand It reached number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number one on the mainstream rock chart. The single Another Ticket was ranked 78th on the US single charts. The other releases Blow Wind Blow , Catch Me If You Can and Rita Mae reached positions 24, 23 and 18 in the mainstream rock charts. The album was awarded " Gold " in the USA and Canada and sold more than 550,000 copies worldwide.
