It's Probably Me is a jazz rock song written in 1992 by Eric Clapton , Sting and Michael Kamen . Together with David Sanborn , the authors recorded the song and released it as part of the soundtrack for the film Brennpunkt LA - The Professionals Are Back , but also independently released it as a single .
The music video was shot in black and white and shows Sting, Kamen, Sanborn and Clapton in the studio recording the song. Clapton used a Zippo - lighter as a tool and smokes cigarettes .
In 1993 Clapton, Kamen and Sanborn received the BMI Film Music Award . Clapton, Kamen and Sting were also nominated for a Grammy Award .
Sting recorded the piece again in 1993 for his album Ten Summoner's Tales without the participation of the other musicians.
