Forever Man is a rock song , that of Jerry Lynn Williams wrote and 1985, both as singles on the album Behind the Sun by Eric Clapton was released. The piece was at number 51 on the UK singles chart , number 26 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number one on the US Billboard mainstream rock songs chart .

Creation and music video

After Clapton signed a deal with Warner Bros. Records and began working on Behind the Sun , the record company was dissatisfied with too few tracks on the album. Warner Brothers commissioned Jerry Lynn Williams to write three songs, one of which was Forever Man . The song begins with a single riff played by the bass , guitar and synthesizer .

The Forever Man video was Clapton's first music video. In the clip, Clapton, Donald Dunn , Jeff Porcaro , Michael Omartian , Tim Renwick , Shaun Murphy , Yvonne Elliman and Marcella Detroit play the song on a stage.

Adaptation and cover versions

The song was released in 2009 on CD and DVD Live from Madison Square Garden with Steve Winwood . The song was also used in the movie SpaceCamp when Tate Donovan's character reached Space Camp in his jeep . The music group Beatchuggers released a house mix of the piece in 2000 with the title Beatchuggers feat. Eric Clapton - Forever Man (How Many Times?) .
