Give Me Strength - The '74 / '75 Studio Recordings is a compilation by British rock musician Eric Clapton and was released on November 25, 2013 under the labels Polydor and Universal Records . The album includes expanded and previously unreleased recordings from the albums 461 Ocean Boulevard , There's One in Every Crowd and EC Was Here , as well as the "Freddie King Criteria Studios Sessions".

Reception and chart success

Allmusic critic Stephen Thomas Erlewine praises the concept of the album as well as Clapton's demeanor and guitar play during the release. However, Erlewine also thinks that the compilation is exactly an archive release thatdoesn't exactly strengthena historical album like 461 Ocean Boulevard . Finally, Erlewine awarded 3.5 of the 5 possible evaluation units for the compilation album. Rolling Stone's Will Hermeswas positive about the album and gave it 4.5 out of 5 points for its release. Nigel Williamson from the British music magazine Uncut awarded a total of 8 points for the compilation.

In Germany, the compilation was number 41 in the German album charts and stayed in the charts for a week. In Wallonia , the publication positioned itself at number 174 and also only stayed in the charts for a week.
