Music and other publications

The title begins with an electric piano intro. Clapton used a wah-wah effects device in the piece . The author Marc Roberty described the wah-wah solos as "outstanding" ("superlative"). However, Roberty criticized Steve Ferrones work on the drums and described the game as "too heavy ". Clapton tried to mimic the vocals of Leon Russell , with whom he had already worked on Eric Clapton from 1970. Allmusic critic Matthew Greenwald praises the rock guitar riff as well as Clapton's excellent vocals and guitar performance. He thought the title seemed overproduced, which was mainly due to the synthesizers .

The song, produced by Russ Titelman , also appeared on Clapton's live album 24 Nights from 1991 and the compilations Clapton Chronicles: The Best of Eric Clapton from 1999, Complete Clapton from 2007, Forever Man from 2015 and another five albums. In addition, the title was part of the Journeyman and 1992 World Tour . In 2014 the title appeared on the concert film Planes, Trains and Eric .

Music video

The music video shows Clapton, Nathan East , Greg Phillinganes and Steve Ferrone playing the song in the rain. The video shows excerpts from a New York video shoot in which Clapton is looking for a woman, talking to her and driving in a taxi, as well as sitting in the rain in front of a pub and singing pretending .
