There's One in Every Crowd is Eric Clapton's third studio album . It was released on the RSO Records label in March 1975. On October 25, 1990, the album was also released on CD . The album is musically very similar to the previous album 461 Ocean Boulevard , but could not achieve the same commercial success.

After Reggae - number one hit I Shot the Sheriff decided Clapton, his band to Jamaica to travel and take there an album. The songs Swing Low, Sweet Chariot , Little Rachel and Don't Blame Me are reggae songs as well. During the recording of the album, Clapton had severe drinking problems and originally wanted the album to be titled EC is God ... There's One in Every Crowd , which his record label RSO declined.

Reception and awards

The music website Allmusic awarded two stars out of five for the album. Critic William Ruhlmann described the album as a "disappointing sequel to 461 Ocean Boulevard". The album was number 15 on the UK album charts and number 21 on the Billboard 200 . The single Swing Low, Sweet Chariot reached number 19 on the UK singles chart and stayed in the charts for a total of new weeks.
