The From the Cradle World Tour [ frɒm ðə ˈkreɪdl wɜːld tʊə ] ( English : for "from-the-cradle world tour"; also known as the Blues World Tour and Nothing but the Blues World Tour ) was a three-year concert tour by British rock musician Eric Clapton to introduce and market his album From the Cradle , released on September 13, 1994 . As with the Journeyman World Tour , Clapton toured before and after the release date of his work . The world tour started on February 20, 1993 in London's Royal Albert Hall and ended there on March 3, 1996.

Clapton played a total of 159 concerts during the entire tour and traveled the continents of Asia, Europe and North America. During the tour, the Brit almost exclusively performed blues songs, which he reinterpreted as a cover version for his album. Towards the end of the world tour, Clapton also played some of his hits like Tears in Heaven , Circus Left Town , My Father's Eyes and Layla . Like numerous previous tours of the British, the From the Cradle World Tour was sold out. During the tour, Clapton joined more than a million visitors and took more than 35 million US dollars a.

The Oscar -prämierte director Martin Scorsese held Clapton Blues travel to the publications Nothing but the Blues (Documentary, 1995) and Martin Scorsese Presents the Blues: Eric Clapton (music album, 2003) firmly.

Tour events

During the entire tour, Clapton traveled back and forth between North America, Asia and Europe 13 times. Clapton played a total of 174 concerts during the From the Cradle World Tour and performed 48 times in London's Royal Albert Hall alone. During the tour, Clapton traveled to Canada for the first time in a few years and performed three concerts in the country in early October 1994. Clapton also toured the Hong Kong SAR again since the Journeyman World Tour in 1990. In the Scandinavian countries, Clapton performed more intensely again, although this time no concert was held in Finland . The Briton didn't stop at Austria and Portugal either. Clapton was most commonly seen in Japan, Great Britain, and the United States.

Although the tour workload was almost the same as that of the Journeyman World Tour , Clapton took several breaks during this tour to relax and rehearse. The rock musician had to interrupt his tour on eleven dates in order to be available for television appearances in the United States and the United Kingdom, for example, as well as charity events and concerts with selected viewers. In total, Clapton toured for around 13 months, with dates spread over roughly three years. As on the Journeyman World Tour , the Clapton-Harrison Tour and the 1992 Eric Clapton World Tour , the Soldano / Cornish Guitar Routing System was also used here. In addition to his signature Stratocaster , Clapton also used vintage guitars .
