Chambœuf is a French commune with 1,711 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . Chambœuf belongs to the arrondissement of Montbrison and the canton of Andrézieux-Bouthéon (until 2015: canton of Saint-Galmier ). The inhabitants are called Chambutaires .
geography
Chambœuf is located about 15 kilometers north-north-west of Saint-Étienne in the historic Forez landscape . The Coise flows along the northern edge of the municipality . Chambœuf is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Galmier in the north, Saint-Médard-en-Forez in the north-east, Aveizieux in the east, Saint-Bonnet-les-Oules in the south, Veauche in the south-west, Rivas in the west and Cuzieu in the north-west.
