The Chinese national football team is the selection team of the Chinese Football Association from the People's Republic of China .

history

The Chinese Football Association was a member of FIFA from 1931 to 1958 and again since 1979 . In between, the Chinese national team was unable to participate in FIFA tournaments and their qualifications for around 20 years.

Under coach Bora Milutinović , the team qualified for the first time in 2002 for the finals of a football World Cup . The Serb took part in a world championship for the fifth time in a row as coach of different teams. The team narrowly failed in qualifying for the 2006 World Cup in Germany to Kuwait . The team coached by Arie Haan at the time had the same number of points and goal difference as the Kuwaiti at the end of the qualification, but failed due to a less scored goal.

Participation of China in the soccer world championship

The team of the People's Republic of China first took part in the qualification for the 1958 World Cup, but failed. After leaving FIFA, there was no qualifying participation again until 1982. So far it has only been enough to qualify when the Asian association was given four starting places for the first time in 2002. But this was the only qualification. In the all-time table of the World Cup finals, China is in 73rd place and is one of the five teams without scoring.
