The Seat 133 , in Germany Fiat 133, was a four-seater, two-door small car with a rear engine and drive from the Spanish manufacturer Seat .
In early 1974 the 133 appeared as one of the two successors to the Seat 850 , from which the floor pan and engine also come. The body was in the style of the Fiat 126 , but was larger and, in contrast to the 126 developed from the Fiat Nuova 500 , contained a water-cooled engine.
The four- cylinder in- line engine with 843 cm³ displacement, installed lengthways in the rear , was combined with a four-speed gearbox and offered in three power variants, as "normal" (DG) with an output of 34 hp (25 kW) and as "super" (DB) with 37 hp (27 kW) and increased compression. These models had drum brakes at the front and rear .
Another version with double carburetors and front disc brakes was offered for the Spanish market . This model, called Especial , had 43 hp (32 kW) at 6400 rpm, so it reached a top speed of 135 km / h. There were also two equipment variants for the Spanish market, the Normal + Especial with a normal body and the Lujo , or Especial Lujo with enlarged bumpers at the front and rear, or plastic panels on the front and rear panel.
In Germany and other countries, the model manufactured in Spain came onto the market in 1975 as the Fiat 133 and was only offered in the 25 kW version. Since Seat was connected to the Fiat group at that time and did not yet have its own sales network, other Seat models could also be ordered from a Fiat dealer. In 1980 the last new vehicles were registered in Germany.
In mid-1980 the Seat 133 was discontinued in favor of the Seat Panda , in Argentina it was produced under license by Industria Argentina Vehículos de Avanzada (IAVA) as Fiat 133 Iava until 1981.
