The Hessian Ministry of Finance (HMdF), as the Ministry of Finance, is a supreme state authority of the State of Hesse with its seat in the state capital Wiesbaden . Michael Boddenberg ( CDU ) has been the Hessian Minister of Finance since March 31, 2020 . State Secretary for Finance is Martin Worms . Due to the provisions in Article 143, paragraph 1 of the constitution of the State of Hesse , the establishment of the Ministry of Finance is required.

tasks

The main tasks of the Hessian Ministry of Finance are:

  • Budget and Financial Policy
  • Tax policy and administration
  • State guarantees and guarantees as well as state financial aid
  • Regulation of financial equalization vis-à-vis the federal government, among the states and between the state, municipalities and municipal associations
  • Service center Frankfurt financial center and tax advisory services
  • Asset management including investment management in private and public companies
  • State investment management and state lotteries
  • Real estate management and building management
  • Procurement, operational control and self-insurance of the country's official vehicles

There are a total of 53 departments with around 14,500 employees in the Ministry's division.

State and legal supervision

The ministry exercises state supervision over the Chamber of Tax Advisors of Hesse and, together with the other participating states, over the GKL joint class lottery of the states . The tax consultants' pension scheme in Hesse is subject to legal supervision by the ministry .
