Johann "Hans" Schwarz (* 1891 in Prague , † 1914 in Russia ) was an Austrian national soccer player . He is considered one of the first goal-getter of the Austrian league championship , as he was the first to secure the title of " top scorer ". He can also be considered one of the first (disguised) professionals in Austria, which officially introduced professional football only in 1924.

Career

Hans Schwarz from Prague began his career at DBC Sturm Prague, went from there to Karlsbader FC and finally found his way abroad to Hamburg. At Hamburger FC 1888 , the young black was able to fit in well in the storm and was also called in to two representative games, each against Berlin. After Vienna tried in the meantime to solve their striker problem, in the autumn of 1910 they had Hans Schwarz together with Martin Laessig at the Hohe Warte “for engagement”, the latter soon returning to Germany.

At Vienna, however, Hans Schwarz soon became one of the most important pillars; he is described with the words "an excellent player, especially a brilliant shooter". Thanks in particular to his speed and volley goals, Hans Schwarz soon became known. Hans Schwarz was able to demonstrate his shooting power in the first championship season of the ÖFV 1911/12 . With 22 hits, he was the best shooter in the league , despite only playing for one of the smaller clubs. The striker was also active internationally, after a successful dress rehearsal at 8: 1 between Vienna and Berlin on April 2, 1911, Hans Schwarz made his international debut for Austria on May 7, 1911 in a 3: 1 victory over Hungary ; he also played in the following 2-1 away win against Germany .

The star striker of the Vienna had quickly made a name for himself in Vienna, he was then poached by the title candidate WAF in the summer of 1912 - a change that was soon to occupy the sports courts. The Vienna refused to release it, resorted to voluntary disclosure after a long period of back and forth, and in the spring of 1913 was fined 200 kroner for “breeding the professional sport”, the player being banned until the end of the season. So it happened that Hans Schwarz could not play a single championship game for an entire season and was only allowed to play again in 1913/14 , now for the WAF.

Hans Schwarz acknowledged this long suspension in his own way: As the second best league shooter, he scored the WAF with 21 goals for the Austrian champions and was also able to celebrate his return to the national team with a goal against Hungary. The Hütteldorfer Klub won the decisive championship game in the last round against Vienna thanks to a brace from Schwarz and his strike partner Adi Fischera 4-2 despite an initial deficit. It was Schwarz's greatest success; only a few weeks later, he was killed by a Russian bullet as a soldier in the First World War .
