Louder Than Life is an American rock and metal festival that has been held since 2014 in Louisville , Kentucky . The festival is organized by the Danny Wimmer Presents company , which also organizes the Aftershock , Chicago Open Air , Epicenter , Welcome to Rockville and many others festivals.

The festival started as a two-day event in Champions Park . In 2018 the festival should take place over three days for the first time. Bad weather meant that the festival had to be canceled. In 2019, the festival finally took place over three days for the first time and moved to the Highland Festival Grounds at the Kentucky Exposition Center . With 128,000 spectators, Louder Than Life became the largest rock festival in the USA.
