Hungary took part in the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki with a delegation of 189 athletes (162 men and 27 women) in 107 competitions in 15 sports.

The Hungarian athletes won 16 gold, 10 silver and 16 bronze medals. In the medal of the games, Hungary placed thus in third place. The flag bearer at the opening ceremony was the athlete Imre Németh .
