Barro is a French municipality with 413 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the Arrondissement Confolens and the canton Charente-Nord (until 2015 Ruffec ). The inhabitants are called barrotois .
geography
Barro is located about 40 kilometers north-northeast of Angoulême on the Charente . Barro is surrounded by the neighboring communities Condac in the north, Bioussac in the northeast, Nanteuil-en-Vallée in the east and southeast, Verteuil-sur-Charente in the south, Villegats in the west and Ruffec in the northwest.
