• Toulouse / France : Thomas Enders replaces Louis Gallois as the new Chief Executive Officer at the European aerospace group EADS .

• Göttingen / Germany : At the electoral party conference of the Left, the delegates vote for Katja Kipping and Bernd Riexinger as new party leaders.
• Cairo / Egypt : In connection with the deadly violence against demonstrators , a criminal court sentenced former Egyptian President Husni Mubarak to life imprisonment.
• Kiel / Germany : THW Kiel also wins the last home game against VfL Gummersbach with 39:29 and closes the handball Bundesliga season 2011/2012 with 68: 0 points with its 17th championship as the first club in German professional sport without loss points . He had already won the Champions League and DHB Cup titles.

• Cairo / Egypt : The Constitutional Court declares the results of the parliamentary election invalid.
• Leipzig / Germany : The founder and operator of the illegal video-on-demand website Kino.to is sentenced by the regional court to four and a half years in prison.

The universities of Freiburg , Göttingen and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology lose elite status.
• Berlin / Germany : After the members of the German Bundestag , the Bundesrat also approves the new regulation of the Transplantation Act .
• The Hague / Netherlands : The Gambian lawyer and former Minister of Justice Fatou Bensouda is sworn in as the new chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court .
• Copenhagen / Denmark : The Act passed on June 7 for the recognition of same-sex marriage as a civil marriage enters into force. In addition, allows government the religious marriage of same-sex couples in the Danish People's Church , if both spouses are church members.

• Oslo / Norway : More than 20 years after being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize , the Myanmar politician Aung San Suu Kyi , who had been under house arrest for years, made up her speech in Oslo City Hall .
• Tokyo / Japan : In order to avoid feared energy bottlenecks in the summer, the government has ordered the resumption of operation of two reactor blocks at the Ōi nuclear power plant for the first time since the Fukushima nuclear disaster .
