Maillé (also: Maillé-sur-Sevre ) is a French municipality with 760 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Vendée , in the Région Pays de la Loire . Maillé belongs to the arrondissement Fontenay-le-Comte and the canton Fontenay-le-Comte (until 2015: canton Maillezais ). The inhabitants are called Mailletais .
location
Maillé is about 25 kilometers west of Niort in the Marais Poitevin and the Venise Verte . The Jeune Autise runs through the municipality into the Sèvre Niortaise , which borders the municipality in the south. Maillé is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Doix lès Fontaines in the north and north-west, Maillezais in the north and north-east, Damvix in the east, La Ronde in the south, Taugon in the south-west and Vix in the west.
