history
In the Middle Ages there was an important priory of the Benedictine Abbey of Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens in Tourtoirac , which is about 5 km south, but was destroyed in the Hundred Years War (1337-1453).
Attractions
- Today's church is a work of the 16./17. Century; it covers only a third of the area of the old church, of which only two portal pillars have survived. These, as well as two capitals of the old church - walled into the outer wall of the sacristy - have been recognized as monuments historiques since 1927 .
- Inside the church there is a medieval baptismal font and the alleged sarcophagus of a local saint named Remigius or Remedius . During restoration work in 2011, some late medieval frescoes were uncovered.
