At the western boundary of the municipality, the Schaale flows very curvy south in the direction of Sude through swampy terrain. Federal highway 5 runs through the municipality . The Berlin – Hamburg line runs through the district of Kuhlenfeld, although it no longer has a stop there.

history

Ticino is first mentioned in a document in 1230 in the Ratzeburg tithe register .

Since the track capacity in the Schwanheide border station was insufficient during the division of Germany , freight trains in the direction of the Federal Republic of Germany were dispatched and checked at the Kuhlenfeld wagon border station . To avoid further checks in Schwanheide, trains departing towards the border had to pass through Boizenburg and be picked up in Schwanheide.
