VW replaced with the new model, the leaf-sprung rigid rear axle of its predecessor by a torsion beam axle .

The new infotainment system in the Caddy is "always on" according to VW, which includes the eCall emergency call system and a breakdown and information call. A digital cockpit and a navigation system are available as options.

In the Caddy V, up to 19 assistance systems, some of which are optional, should be available that are familiar from the Golf 8 .

The new four-cylinder engines in the Caddy all meet the Euro 6 emissions standards for 2021 and are equipped with a particle filter. In the TDI engines come two SCR catalysts with double urea injection is used ( "Twindosing"), whereby the nitrogen oxide emissions (NO x to be reduced).
