The Martin Becker GmbH & Co. KG is a bus enterprise based in Altenkirchen (Westerwald) . It operates local public transport in the districts of Altenkirchen , Rhein-Lahn, Neuwied , in the Westerwald district and also touring coaches . The two in-house subsidiaries of Martin Becker GmbH & Co. KG are Stadtverkehr Martin Becker and Martin Becker Omnibus Repair Workshop .
Companies
The transport company was founded in 1929 and has been expanding ever since. The company has been part of the Rhenus Veniro Group since 2002 . Both companies had previously cooperated on projects in Bad Kreuznach and Zweibrücken. At the end of 2018, after Rhenus Veniro's parent company, the Rethmann Group, announced that it wanted to acquire a stake in the French Transdev , Rhenus Veniro aligned itself accordingly and renamed itself accordingly.
The around 50 vehicles are serviced at the depots in Altenkirchen and Niederfischbach. The other vehicles are used from the bases in Asbach, Bad Honnef and Diez.
Service area
The company's own bus routes are served in the districts of Altenkirchen , Neuwied and Rhein-Lahn-Kreis . Furthermore, parts of the Limburg-Weilburg district and the Westerwaldkreis are served. The service area extends to the districts of Siegen-Wittgenstein and Olpe through the implementation of contract traffic for the transport companies Busverkehr Ruhr-Sieg and Verkehrsbetriebe Westfalen-Süd . From December 2017, Martin Becker will operate the Eltville / Schlangenbad line bundle on behalf of the Rheingau-Taunus-Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH (RTV) in the Rhein-Main transport association in Hesse for eight years . In addition to regular scheduled and travel services, kindergarten and school trips are also carried out, transporting 7,500 schoolchildren alone every day.
The licenses for the former lines 522, 539 and 564 from Asbach to the state border of North Rhine-Westphalia were not re-applied for after the expiry on May 31, 2020. Since June 1, 2020, these lines have therefore been operated solely by the RSVG, which previously held the licenses in North Rhine-Westphalia.
For the remaining lines in the Neuwied district, an application has been made to be released from the obligation to operate.
Depending on the route, the tariffs and conditions of carriage of the two transport associations VRS and VRM apply to regular services .
