Lagarde or Lagarde-Fimarcon is a French commune with 119 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Gers department in the Occitania region (before 2016: Midi-Pyrénées ). The municipality is part of the Condom arrondissement and the Lectoure-Lomagne canton (until 2015: Lectoure canton ).

The inhabitants are called Lagardais and Lagardaises .

geography

Lagarde is about 15 kilometers east of Condom in the historic province of Armagnac on the northern edge of the department.

Lagarde is surrounded by the five neighboring communities:

Lagarde is located in the catchment area of the Garonne River .

The Auchie , a left tributary of the Gers , crosses the area of the municipality together with its tributary, the Ruisseau de Sans. In addition, the Ruisseau de l'Artigue, also called Ruisseau de la Borde Neuve on its upper reaches, rises in Lagarde.

Population development

After the records began, the number of inhabitants rose to a high of around 540 at the beginning of the 19th century. In the following period, the size of the community fell with intermittent recovery phases to this day.
