The sixth season of the Live - dance show Let's Dance was broadcast by RTL from April 5 to May 31, 2013.
The show
As early as December 2012 it was announced that Jorge Gonzalez will be a member of the jury, replacing Maite Kelly . As the broadcaster announced on February 18, 2013, the jury should only consist of three people. In addition, the show ran - as was the case in its third season - again on Fridays from April 5, 2013. In addition, the number of participants was again limited to ten dance couples.
After the Discofox marathon, which had already become a tradition, the dance showdown introduced in the previous season also established itself and was now carried out under the title “Dance Battle”. The dancer groups competing against each other were formed this time by selecting two team captains from the row of celebrities, who in turn could be determined by the viewers via the RTL Inside app . Their choice fell on Sıla Şahin (in the "Sexy Six" team with Paul Janke and Simone Ballack) and Balian Buschbaum, who, however, retired that same evening and the "Staffelholz" went to Manuela Wisbeck (in the "Baby Dolls" team with Jürgen Milski and Manuel Cortez). Since the groups no longer competed against each other with different dances, but measured each other over a fusion of rumba and jive, another innovation concerned the dance performance itself.
In addition, the programs with a certain motto were continued: In the 50th edition on May 10th, the candidates danced in two rounds to well-known film titles, a week later special life events (“Magic Moments”) were performed again. What was new, however, was the dance-off held in the semifinals - a battle for the direct performance comparison of all remaining couples who competed against each other in a cha-cha-cha using choreography presented at the same time.

Manuel Cortez and Melissa Ortiz-Gomez won the final with a rumba to the song I Just Can't Stop Loving You by Michael Jackson and Siedah Garrett (25 points), a jive to Chuck Berry's You Never Can Tell (28 points) and the Freestyle to a medley of cabaret with excerpts from the songs Willkommen ( Joel Gray ), Mein Herr ( Liza Minnelli ), Money, Money (Gray & Minnelli) and Cabaret (Minnelli) (29 points). In addition to the jury rating, the couple received 50.06% of the calls in the audience voting.
