Men's tennis singles at the 2008 Summer Olympics .

Defending champion was Nicolás Massú . The final was played by Fernando González and Rafael Nadal , which Nadal won in three sets. This was his first triumph at the Summer Olympics, while Gonzáles won a medal in Athens in 2004 (bronze at the time). In the bronze medal game Novak Đoković won in straight sets against James Blake .
