PepsiCo headquarters

Until 1997, some fast food chains belonged to the PepsiCo group under the umbrella brand Tricon Restaurants Inc. (operating as Yum! Brands since 2002 ). These included Kentucky Fried Chicken , Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell .

In 2011, PepsiCo founded a joint venture between its subsidiary Quaker Oats and the dairy company Theo Müller group called Muller Quaker Dairy . In 2013, a yogurt factory was put into operation in Batavia (City, New York) . At the end of 2015, the joint venture was dissolved because sales were too low, and the yogurt plant was sold to Dairy Farmers of America .

competition

The Coca-Cola Company has always been seen as the main competitor in the grocery market and in December 2005, PepsiCo overtook the Coca-Cola Company in market value for the first time in its 112-year competitive history. In 2009, Coca-Cola had an even larger share of the carbonated drinks market in the United States . In the same year, however, PepsiCo already held a higher market share in soft drinks , which reflects the differences in the product ranges of the two companies. As a result of company takeovers and partnerships by PepsiCo in the 1990s and 2000s, PepsiCo's product portfolio broadened to include beverages as well as edible foods. The majority of PepsiCo's income no longer comes from carbonated beverages. PepsiCo's Frito-Lay and Quaker Oats hold a substantial market share in the US market with approximately 39% of all snacks sold in 2009. One of PepsiCo's main competitors in the overall food market is the Kraft Foods Group , which captured 11% of the American snack market in the same year could.
