Surin is a French municipality with 657 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Niort and the canton of Autize-Égray (until 2015: canton of Champdeniers-Saint-Denis ). The inhabitants are called Surinois .

geography

Surin is about twelve kilometers north of Niort . Surin is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Pamplie in the north, Cours in the east and northeast, Saint-Ouenne in the east and southeast, Faye-sur-Ardin in the south and southwest, Béceleuf in the west and Xaintray in the northwest.
