The “Prince Street of the Wettins” is a themed street that leads through five German federal states and parts of Poland .

The route network of the "Fürstenstrasse der Wettin" is mainly in the former government area of the Wettins , one of the oldest German princely families . The southern starting point is Bayreuth , which was never under the control of the dynasty, but August the Strong married the Bayreuth Princess Christiane Eberhardine there .

The initiators would like to use the holiday route to open up the rich cultural and natural landscape of Central Germany for interested car tourists.

The historical-tourist project is carried out by the association “Fürstenstrasse der Wettiner” e. V., individual municipalities and private sponsors.

The total length including the four secondary routes is over 3,330 km, with the length of the main route being over 1,200 km.

The themed route is divided into a total of five different routes, the center of which is Wettin Castle , the former headquarters of the Wettin family in Wettin an der Saale.
