Saint-Germain-des-Prés ( Occitan : Sant German dels Prats ) is a French commune with 915 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Tarn department in the Occitania region . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Castres and the canton of Le Pastel (until 2015: canton of Puylaurens ). The inhabitants are called Saint-Germinois .
geography
Saint-Germain-des-Prés is located about 40 kilometers east-southeast of Toulouse and about 12 kilometers west-southwest of Castres . The Sor limits the community in the extreme east. Saint-Germain-des-Prés is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Puylaurens in the north and west, Sémalens in the north-east, Cambounet-sur-le-Sor in the east and north-east, Soual in the east, Lescout in the south-east and Lempaut in the south.
