Vernay is a French commune with 101 inhabitants (January 1, 2017) in the Rhône department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . Vernay belongs to the arrondissement Villefranche-sur-Saône and the canton Belleville (until 2015: canton Beaujeu ).
geography
Vernay is located about 35 kilometers southwest of Mâcon and about 30 kilometers northwest of Villefranche-sur-Saône . Vernay is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Les Ardillats in the north, Saint-Didier-sur-Beaujeu in the south and east and Chénelette in the west.
