Anne's Church

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Annakirche or St. Anna Church , also Annenkirche or St. Annen Church , or St. Anna for short , is the name of numerous churches that are consecrated to St. Anne . The feast day is July 26th.

Some churches have the patronage of St.  Joachim and St. Anna (the parents of Mary , grandparents of Jesus). The Anna churches are often pilgrimage churches, especially in matters of birth.

The main churches are Santi Gioacchino ed Anna al Tuscolano , the titular church in Rome, and St. Anne's Church in Jerusalem , where Mary's birthplace is venerated in an underground grotto.
