history
The place was first mentioned by name in 1263 as "Bruggeberc" in a document from Heilsbronn Monastery . The place name refers to a hill where there was a bridge over the Haslach.
There was a noble family of the same name in the village. In addition to Bruckberg, goods and tithes in Engelhardshof , Erkenbrechtshaid , Forst , Frankendorf , Kleinhabersdorf , Kleinhaslach , Mausendorf , Meinhardswinden , Moosbach , Neukirchen , Petersaurach , Petersdorf , Reckersdorf , Reckersdorf, Stegbruck , Steinbach , Triebendorf (?), Unterrottmannsdorf and Weihenzell were subject to this . The Bruckbergers lost this influential position from the middle of the 13th century. In 1398 the Burckberger family seems to have died out without male descendants. From 1401 to 1453 the rule of Bruckberg was under the Lords of Seckendorff . As a result of the First Margrave War (1449/50), the rule of Bruckberg fell to the imperial city of Nuremberg . Now the Nuremberg patricians Haller became owners of the estate. In 1504 the Nuremberg citizen Christoph Rothan acquired the noble seat of Bruckberg and in the same year submitted to the Ansbach margraves. In 1534 Veronika Rothan married Peter von Eyb .
In the 16-point report of the Principality of Ansbach from 1684, 20 teams and two mills are recorded for Bruckberg: five properties were subordinate to the court office of Ansbach and 17 properties to the Lords of Eyb zu Bruckberg. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Hofkastenamt Ansbach.
The Vogtamt Bruckberg has taken over the management of the goods of the manor Bruckberg of the Lords of Eyb , which they had sold to the Principality of Ansbach in 1687. However, jurisdiction and rule were taken over by the Vogtamt Flachslanden .
At the end of the 18th century there were 34 properties in Bruckberg. The high court exercised the court box office in Ansbach. The village and community rulership was held by the Brandenburg-Ansbach Vogtamt Bruckberg. The sole landlord was the Principality of Ansbach (Vogtamt Bruckberg: brewery with tapping rights and Schafscheuer, 1 Gut, 16 Söldengüter , 5 empty houses , 1 Mühlgut, 1 Schmiedsölde, 1 Tafernwirtschaft , 1 Ziegelhütte ; Hofkastenamt Ansbach: 1 Gut, 1 Söldengut, 2 empty houses, 1 Mill, 1 economic property). In addition to the property, there was the shepherd's house as a communal building and the castle as a manorial building.
In 1792 the Principality of Ansbach - and with it Bruckberg - was acquired by Prussia . From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach . There were 30 subject families at that time. As part of the principality, Bruckberg fell to the Kingdom of Bavaria in the Treaty of Paris (February 1806) by exchange .
As part of the municipal edict, the Bruckberg tax district was formed in 1808 , to which Bruckberg with Bruckberger Mühle, Forst , Kleinhabersdorf , Mittelmühle , Obermühle, Petersdorf , Reckersdorf , Reckersdorfer Mühle and Schleifmühle belonged. The rural community of Bruckberg was founded in 1811 and was congruent with the tax district. It was subordinate to the Ansbach Regional Court in administration and jurisdiction and to the Ansbach Rent Office ( renamed Ansbach Tax Office in 1920 ).
With the second community edict (1818) was
- Kleinhabersdorf changed to Kleinhaslach ;
- Fessenmühle , Frankendorf and Wustendorf changed from Vestenberg to Bruckberg. In the same year Vestenberg submitted a request to reverse this, but this was rejected.
On August 13, 1827, the newly formed community of Forst dissolved with Fessenmühle, Frankendorf and Petersdorf von Bruckberg. In 1837 the district of Neubruck was founded. From 1862 onwards, Bruckberg was administered by the Ansbach district office (renamed the Ansbach district in 1938 ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court of Ansbach until 1870, 1870-1879 city and district court Ansbach , since 1880 district court Ansbach .
Population development
In the period from 1988 to 2018, the population increased from 1240 to 1361 by 121 inhabitants or 9.8%.

Blazon : "Under a shield head quartered with silver and blackin blue, a silver rose bush with five red roses with golden clusters ."
Red-white-black municipal flag |
|
Reasons for the coat of arms: The rose bush, the central coat of arms figure, is taken from the coat of arms of the Lords of Bruckberg. The noble family had a silver bush with five flowers in their coat of arms. The Zollernvierung in the Schildhaupt is reminiscent of the Ansbach margrave Wilhelm Friedrich, who acquired the Bruckberg estate in 1715. |
