Every Little Thing is a pop rock song written by Doyle Bramhall II , Nikka Costa and Justin Stanley and released on Eric Clapton's studio album Old Sock and as a single in 2013 .
Clapton stated in an interview for Old Sock that the songwriters wrote the title for a Clapton performance in front of his family. The song is about Clapton's family. He described the song as "beautiful" but noted that he would never write anything like that.
Reception and chart success
Music critic Hal Horowitz from americansongwriter.com praised the new titles Gotta Get Over and Every Little Thing . Stephen Thomas Erlewine of the music website Allmusic describes the song as a "nice reggae piece" and praised Clapton's idea of having his children sing on the piece. The single reached number 26 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary Chart and stayed there for seven weeks.
