In Hamburg there are 812 clubs with 578,672 members (as of 2015), which are organized in the Hamburger Sportbund , the largest umbrella organization in the country, and around 50,000 volunteers. The city has more than 1,600 sports facilities, including 682 sports halls, 15 performance centers and a regional base.
