Todd County is a county in the state of Kentucky in the United States . The county seat is Elkton , named after a former waterhole for elk.

The county is located in southwest Kentucky, borders the state of Tennessee to the south and has an area of ​​976 square kilometers, of which two square kilometers are water. In Kentucky, it is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Muhlenberg County , Logan County, and Christian County .

Todd County was formed on December 30, 1819 from parts of Christian County and Logan County. It was named after Colonel John Todd.

According to the 2000 census , Todd County's population was 11,971. 126 people lived in collective accommodation, the other residents lived in 4,569 households and 3,367 families.
