Saint-Julien is located about six kilometers northwest of Villefranche-sur-Saône in the Bourgogne wine region . Saint-Julien is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Blacé in the north and northwest, Saint-Georges-de-Reneins in the northeast, Arnas in the east, Denicé in the south and Montmelas-Saint-Sorlin in the west and southwest.
