Schenefeld ( Low German : Scheenfeld ) is a municipality in the Steinburg district in Schleswig-Holstein . The administrative seat of the office of Schenefeld is located in the village in intercommunal cooperation .
Geography and traffic
Schenefeld is about 15 km north of Itzehoe on the federal highway 430 . The Mühlenau (Stegau) and the Meiereibach flow through the community . On Siezbütteler mill pond that lies Luisenbad .
history
The church in Scanafeld is said to have been mentioned for the first time by Adam of Bremen in 1075 in the Gesta Hammaburgensis ecclesiae pontificum . However, with Schenefeld in the Pinneberg district, there is a place of the same name that refers to the mention. The Bonifatiuskirche is said to be even older: In the course of the Ansgar worship, especially in the first decades of the 20th century, the art historian Alfred Kamphausen determined the founding year 826 AD in 1932 after excavations on the north wall of the church. New excavations brought the remains of the wall from the 12th century to light, but could not verify the foundation of the church in the Carolingian era .
From 1901 to 1957 there was a train station of the Rendsburger Kreisbahn in Schenefeld . In 1983 the town won silver in the nationwide competition " Our village should be more beautiful ". On January 1, 2013, the previously independent municipality of Siezbüttel was incorporated into Schenefeld.
