Scotty Baesler

Henry Scott "Scotty" Baesler (born July 9, 1941 in Lexington , Kentucky ) is an American politician .

Baesler studied at the University of Kentucky , where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1963 . Three years later he received his Juris Doctor from the Law School of the same university . That same year he was accepted into the bar and began practicing. 1974 to 1977 he was Vice Mayor of Fayette County and served there as a judge from 1979 to 1981. 1982 to 1993 Baesler held the office of Mayor of Lexington. In 1991 he tried to become a democratic candidate for the gubernatorial election, but could not prevail in the end.

Baesler was established in 1992 as a Democrat in Congress voted and represented there on 3 January 1993 to 3 January 1999 State of Kentucky in the US House of Representatives . Instead of running again for a seat in the US House of Representatives in 1998, Baesler tried unsuccessfully to be elected to the US Senate .
