Cap R. Carden
Cap Robert Carden (born December 17, 1866 in Munfordville , Hart County , Kentucky , † June 13, 1935 in Louisville , Kentucky) was an American politician . Between 1931 and 1935 he represented the state of Kentucky in the US House of Representatives .
Career
Cap Carden attended the public schools of his home country and then the Bowling Green Business and Normal School . After a subsequent law degree and his admission to the bar, he began to work in Munfordville in this profession. He also worked in banking and agriculture. Between 1887 and 1890 he was a sheriff in Hart County. Between 1891 and 1894 he served as the district attorney in that county; from 1900 to 1915 he worked for the local district court.
Politically, Carden was a member of the Democratic Party . In the 1930 congressional election , he was elected to the United States House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the fourth constituency of Kentucky , where he succeeded Republican John D. Craddock on March 4, 1931 . After two re-elections, he could remain in Congress until his death on June 13, 1935 . During this time, many New Deal laws have been passed there since President Franklin D. Roosevelt took office in 1933 . In addition, the 20th and 21st amendments were ratified in 1933 .
