Frank Lane Wolford (born September 2, 1817 in Columbia , Kentucky , †  August 2, 1895 ibid) was an American politician . Between 1883 and 1887 he represented the state of Kentucky in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Frank Wolford attended public schools in his home country. After a subsequent law degree and his admission as a lawyer, he began to work in Liberty in this profession. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Democratic Party . Between 1847 and 1866 he was four times a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives . During the Civil War , Wolford was colonel in a cavalry regiment in the Union Army between 1861 and 1864 . From 1867 to 1868 he was an adjutant general head of the Kentucky National Guard.

In the 1882 congressional election , Wolford was elected to the Eleventh constituency of Kentucky in the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , where he succeeded Landaff Andrews on March 4, 1883 . After a re-election in 1884, he was able to complete two terms in Congress until March 3, 1887 . In the elections of 1886 he was defeated by Republican Hugh F. Finley . As a result, Wolford practiced as a lawyer again.
