history
In 806 a "Villa Wallemaresdorp" was mentioned in a deed of donation to the Prüm monastery . However, it is controversial whether this is Walsdorf. In 1023 there were secured goods on the Arensberg. In 1353 a "Center Walsdorf" is mentioned.
Until the end of the 18th century, Walsdorf and Zilsdorf belonged to the imperial rule of Kerpen , which was owned by the Dukes of Arenberg . Part of the village of Walsdorf belonged to the Electorate of Daun .
On March 17, 1974, the previously independent community of Zilsdorf with 138 inhabitants was incorporated into Walsdorf.

coat of arms
The blazon reads: "In a silver shield there is an obliquely left, red bar, covered with three gold medlar flowers with blue clusters, accompanied by a red ring at the top and a red lily at the bottom."
Meaning: The red sloping bar with the medlar flowers is borrowed from the coat of arms of the Counts and Dukes of Aremberg , to whose imperial property Walsdorf and Zilsdorf belonged. The red ring stands for Saint Arnulf , who is the church and local patron in Walsdorf. The lily was taken up as an attribute of Saint Anthony of Padua , who is the chapel and local patron of Zilsdorf.
