politics

coat of arms

The coat of arms was approved by the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Ministry of the Interior on March 3, 2010. It is registered under No. 330 in the coat of arms of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Blazon : "In gold, a blue sloping bar, accompanied by a black raven at the top and a black oak branch with nine acorns after the figure below."

Explanation of the symbols:
The blue sloping wave bar symbolizes the meandering Warnow River. The symbolism for the black oak branch with the nine acorns is twofold. Nine acorns stand for the nine districts of the municipality. In addition, the oak branch is intended to refer to the numerous nature-protected and centuries-old oaks. The illustration of the black bird indicates the translation and derivation of the word Warnow from Slavic usage. The Slavic sub-tribe of the Warnabi is translated as "ravens" or "people from the raven river".

The coat of arms was designed by the heraldist Michael Rohde from Schlockow.

flag

The flag of the municipality of Warnow consists of a yellow cloth. It is covered with the figures of the municipal coat of arms (diagonally divided by a blue wavy bar, at the flying end above a black raven, at the leech below a slanted black oak branch with nine acorns). The raven takes up half and the oak branch 4/9 of the height of the flag cloth. The height of the flag cloth is related to the length like 3: 5.
